Wearable Computing – Compute as you live

Overview:

Over last several years, we have witnessed a rapid evolution in smart appliances and devices, PDAs, and wearable computers. The Wearable Computing is an emerging technology and becoming inevitable on medical, rehabilitation and defense sector. The wearable gadgets are not only supportive analytical miniature electronic devices, but also serious and powerful communication workstations. These devices are worn by the user under, with or on top of clothing. This class of wearable technology for computing starts with a simple calculator watch introduced in early 80’s. Now as a state of art, wearable computers are used in many disciplines including space science, engineering, health industry etc.

The proposed workshop will offer a platform to introduce the concepts of wearable computing, include discussions on designing wearable computers and serve as a medium to present the most successful applications used for professional use, healthcare, entertainment, media and security.
