Overview:

“As organizations in the education sector continuously look for new ways to innovate their learning processes and operations, mobility through Smartphones is increasingly gaining attention. RIM has been working with institutions worldwide to help them along this process, not only through smartphones use but also via the BlackBerry Academic Program.” This workshop presentation will go through the BlackBerry Academic Program that provides university level courses to accredited institutions on BlackBerry application development and administration. It will also provide information on how BlackBerry and smartphone technology is being used by various universities, colleges and schools around the world. “


Presenter's Profile:

Mr. Matthew  Hands is the Enterprise Channel Manager, Middle East for Research In Motion (RIM), and is responsible for Enterprise business development in the region. He is based out of RIM’s United Arab Emirates (UAE) offices in Dubai Internet City.

Matthew has spent over five years working for RIM and has held multiple positions in Canada, Russia and the Middle East where he has assisted many multinational corporations in designing their mobility strategy. Joining RIM Middle East in September 2009, Matthew now manages the Enterprise Sales channel for the Middle East.
Matthew is also heavily involved with the UAE’s educational community where he has introduced RIM’s BlackBerry Academic Program to leading universities, including the Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University and the American University in Dubai. Matthew is frequently asked to be guest speaker at conferences, conventions and universities because of his knowledge and experience in the fields of business mobility, smartphone applications and information security.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a minor in economics from the Michael G. DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University in Canada.
